Vee’s Cafe!

Ok, so my good friends John and Veronica Mimellis have recently opened a cafe up at Katoomba in the Blue Mountains of NSW. It’s called Vee’s Cafe and they were kind enough to ask me to fill their wall space with my photos. The photos above are the finished result. I feel very priviledged to have my work hanging in someones place of business and cant thank them enough for being so kind to me. I consider this to be my first gallery as all photos on display in the cafe are for sale and I will also have a price list and order form available at the cafe for anyone who would like to place an order for any of the photos. So if your up in the mountains or passing through drop into Vee’s cafe, the address is 195 Katoomba st, Katoomba. The food is delicious and the coffee is amazing! Trust me they never let me leave with an empty stomach 🙂

Nepean River Startrails

So with the help of my housemate Sam and his trusty Joby light, I ventured out the other night to try my hand at star trail photography using the 5dMKII.

This is what I came up with. Eight exposures of six minutes each and then merged them all into one image in photoshop. It was almost a full moon and the sky was perfectly clear so there was plenty of light around and I also did a bit of light painting with the Joby on the trees and rocks in the foreground. Hope you like it!

Hello!

Hello and welcome to my Blog.

My name is Andrew McNeil. I am a Landscape Photographer from Sydney, Australia. Most of my work is shot in panoramic 3:1 ratio on my Fotoman 617 medium format panoramic film camera. I also use a Canon EOS 5D MKII and the photomerge function in photoshop to stitch my digital images together.

I thought I would start by posting an image I took recently at a location called Terrace Falls in the Blue Mountains.
This shot was taken after some heavy rain so the falls were quite spectacular on this particular day.

I have shot these falls on a number of a occasions and have seen them as little more than a trickle all the way through to a raging torrent. Hope you enjoy!
